* Do you have set days for departure and arrival? Is there a minimum stay?

No, currently we have no set day for departure, however, we do request a minimum stay of 7 (seven) days.

 

* I have never stayed in a private house before, what are the advantages compared to staying in a hotel?

That’s easy freedom and the ability to stretch out and feel right at home.

 

* What will food cost me?

You can expect to pay a little more that you do at home, remember nearly everything is imported and

you won’t be disappointed with the selection!

 

*  Can I drink the water?

Aruba has some of the best water anywhere. The island boasts one of the world’s best desalinization plants.

 

*  Where do I shop for the groceries?

There are several markets and grocery stores within a 5-10 minute drive from the house, in addition there is a convenience store nearby.

 

*  Is Aruba a safe place and can one walk around the property?

The property has a security guard from 7:pm to 7:am daily. You will feel comfortable nearly anywhere in Aruba.

The island is widely known for its friendly people and happy atmosphere.

 

*  Do I have to rent a car?

No, one is provided for your use. Please note that conditions do apply. We do request a signed waiver and a copy of your photo copy of your driver’s license.

 

*  Where is the Canuku House located?

The Canuku house is located near Noord and the Hi-rise hotels in the quite community Calbas.

You will be minutes away from several of the island’s best attractions!


*  Do I get my money back if I have to cancel?

Please review our rates and information section and our rental agreement.


*  Are there any hidden costs?

No, everything is clearly outlined in the agreement.


*  What if I break something? Am I responsible for damages and do I have to pay a deposit for damages?

Yes, a security deposit required and in the event of any damage you are liable.


*  What should I pack?

Bring a good supply of suntan lotion, you’re going to need it! The island has a very casual atmosphere. It is recommended you also bring something dressy if you plan to take in any of the island’s excellent fine-dining restaurants and shows. There are also plenty of great shops and boutiques to visit if you have forgotten something.


*  Is there nightlife in Aruba?

There is something for everyone. All of the Casinos feature magnificent productions, there are nightclubs and restaurants You name it’s in Aruba!


*  Do I need a passport?

Yes, as is the case in most countries, you will require a passport to gain entry into Aruba.


*  When is the hurricane season?

There isn’t one, that’s the beauty of Aruba. The island is located just outside of the hurricane belt and the weather is great all of the time!


*  Is there a rainy season?

Not really… there is more rainfall than usual during November and sometimes into early December.


*  Will my electrical equipment work in Aruba?

Yes! Aruba is the same as North America.


*  Do I need to bring cash? Where can I change money and find an ATM?

There are several ATM’s and banks on the island. Most of which will offer the Aruban Florin or the US Dollar.

Of course your credit card is accepted nearly everywhere!

 

*  How will I make out on my exchange?

Like a bandit! The florin is tied to the US dollar. The exchange is approximately 1.75. (here’s the quick math: divide in half and add 10%)
